Job Titles and Summary of Duties
Full-time Domestic Helper
The domestic helper can provide all around help for busy families, particularly for homes where both parents are working, or where there are several children to take care of. This is an integrated role, where the domestic helper will undertake child-care and housekeeping duties. Often working hours are long, to ensure the child(ren) are taken care of until the parent(s) returns from work.
Full-time Nanny
The role of the full-time nanny will be the focus on the child-care, with attention on the nurturing and development of the child. She may also undertake light housekeeping duties, especially those duties relating to the child (ren). Typically, a nanny will have a child-care license (day-care, kindergarten teacher), a nursing or midwifery background, or extensive experience in taking care of children.
Full-time Housekeeper/Maid
A full-time maid will undertake primarily housekeeping and cooking duties. This kind of worker is particularly suitable for the daily maintenance of larger or multiple homes, or in families with older children who do not require a great deal of care, but where there is a lot of cleaning, laundry and cooking duties to undertake.
Full-time Care-giver
The focus of a full-time caregiver is to act as a companion, helper and carer for an elderly single or couple. Duties include general housekeeping, cooking, accompanying outside, and assisting with bathing/toilet trips. For this kind of position, we would introduce candidates possessing a Caregiver Level 2 License.
Full-time Handyman
For large homes requiring male assistance, a full-time handyman is ideal. The full-time handyman is especially useful for large or multiple properties and/or large families. Duties include housekeeping, maintenance works and odd-jobs, errand-running and gardening. “Manny”-assistance (man + nanny) may even be included for help with the kids.
Full-time Home Cook
For large households that have intensive cooking needs, it can make sense to outsource your shopping and cooking to a Full-time Home Cook. The home cook will prepare meals for the family on a regular basis and tailor recipes to your dietary requirements and taste. Duties include shopping for ingredients, meal preparation, serving and post-meal clean-up. Typically, the Home Cook has a professional cooking background (e.g. restaurant/canteen cook) or has a culinary license.
